Click fraud occurs in two forms.

29th July

Click fraud occurs in two forms. In one instance, fraud arises from competitors trying to sabotage each other. One competitor clicks on the ads of another just to drain the budget of that company. The other instance occurs when webmasters (or people associated with the webmaster) repeatedly click Google AdSense ads (which are syndications of others? ads) on their own web pages in order to generate more revenue. While both Overture and Google have developed sophisticated technologies to detect click fraud, their systems are, and may never be, foolproof.

The real question is how much does click fraud actually damage the PPC industry? Gross fraud, i.e., when one person or technology consistently and repeatedly clicks on an ad, aside, which Overture and Google can easily detect, we believe that click fraud has no real impact on the industry. The following explains why.

Efficient market theory says that it is impossible to ?beat a market? because prices already incorporate and reflect all relevant information.

29th July

It wouldn?t matter if half of the titles were rushed to production and didn?t eek out the finest high definition quality because the movie studios could release an extra special edition six months later and we would buy it again. The HD-DVD would just have to look and sound marginally better than the best SD-DVD had to offer for the same title.

HD-DVD?s launch needs a huge push. Rumor Has It couldn?t launch a bottle rocket with a flame thrower.

Supporters t’ai-ke it easy to be match fit

0 Comments | Sentinel, The; Stoke-on-Trent (UK), Jul 27, 2010 | by DAVE KNAPPER

FOOTBALL fans are being offered the chance to work on some relaxation techniques before the drama of the approaching season.

Stoke City have unveiled a 10-week programme of t’ai chi to help improve the health and fitness of supporters and residents.

The sessions have been organised by the club’s health coach Karen Matcham, below, who has instigated a range of activities in the past to boost fitness levels in the city.

She said: “I was looking for a variety in the activities that we offered.

“Something like t’ai chi is achievable as people strike a work/ life balance as it is something very relaxing.

“I don’t think yoga would get too many of the men coming along, but something like this appeals to more people.

“It’s something people can take home and practise in their own time.”

Karen, whose role is funded by the New Football Pools, is looking to expand the programmes offered by adding martial arts training.

She added: “We have done walking sessions, cycling, along with exercise classes and they are proving popular.”

Half-a-dozen people attended last night’s t’ai chi session in Delilah’s Bar, at the Britannia Stadium. John Hinks, aged 71, from Fulford, who has had a Stoke City season ticket since 1970, said: “Maybe I will be using some of these methods next season depending on how we do.

“I decided to come along because as I get older I wanted to look at more ways to get fit.

“I’ve done the exercise classes here too.”

Frank Williams, aged 66, from Goldenhill, said: “I really enjoy the sessions when you leave them you feel really good.

“I find it very relaxing and the more you do the better you feel.”

Huw Ridd, aged 57, from Fenton, says the sessions help him combat stress.

The former IT worker said: “It’s being in control of how your body moves. I find it very relaxing and it helps as I suffer from stress.”

The sessions have been overseen by t’ai chi instructor Peter Kulak.

The 59-year-old from Cheddleton said: “It helps people on different levels.

“It can be good for people who have arthritis and a lot of people do suffer problems with their joints.

“T’ai chi can place a gap between what people do in life as they need to fully concentrate on it.”

The New Football Pools, an official licensee of The Premier League, has joined forces with a number of football clubs to help tackle health issues suffered by men.

The Pounds 1.63 million Premier League Health project aims to improve the state of men’s health in deprived areas across over the country.

The t’ai chi classes take place every Monday at Delilah’s Bar, at the Britannia Stadium, from 6.30pm until 8pm.

The club also hosts a reading group every Tuesday at Tunstall Library from 2.30pm until 4pm.

Ancient route to wellbeing T’AI CHI was developed in China in around 225 AD.

It is a system of slow meditative physical exercise designed for relaxation, balance and health.

The ancient Chinese martial art form was developed to enhance both physical and emotional well-being. The ancient Chinese believed that the body was filled with energy, or chi, but chi could become blocked, causing illness and disease. They believed that a person could help improve the flow of chi throughout the body and improve their health by performing t’ai chi exercises

With the ability

With the ability to change positions, these beds give maximum comfort, along with…hopefully…a great night’s sleep or daytime rest. Although adjustable beds are an almost necessity in hospitals and other medical facilities, recently there has been a huge upsuge for many beds such as these in the home also.

The adjustable bed provides a reclining position normally around 30 to 45 degrees above level. The upper body position is higher than the lower body position with a little support under the knees for convenient bending of the knees. The bed should ideally provide sufficient support to the curves of the spine relieving body pressure through the night and day. This helps you to get up refreshed after a good night’s sleep.

Individual preference is of utmost importance when making a choice of adjustable beds and mattresses.

Marshall University Foundation Looks to ChannelNet for a 21st Century Brand Makeover

Market Wire, July, 2010

ChannelNet , led by Paula Tompkins , its CEO and Marshall University Foundation board member, took on the assignment of revitalizing the Foundation’s brand image to capture the benefits of the Internet, digital marketing and social media. The project encompassed Marshall University Foundation and their two divisions, Alumni Association and The Foundation Hall. The goal was to fashion a unique brand for each organization that could stand alone, yet perform harmoniously as a group.

ChannelNet’s creative team began by conducting extensive benchmarking of other university foundation digital and traditional marketing tools. Next the team interviewed stakeholders at the Foundation and examined a broad array of existing marketing materials. Additionally, an information architecture renovation was undertaken and creative concepts were developed.

The newly designed branding and design elements — color, design, typeface and structure — were applied to create logos, style guidelines, and prototypes for both digital communications and printed materials. With a solid approach in hand, Ms. Tompkins presented the new branding to the Foundation’s Board of Directors to approve and adopt the new branding as the recognized standard.

“I saw a need to transform the brand image of the Foundation and its affiliates into something that was relevant for both digital and traditional marketing communications,” said Tompkins. “I approached several board members with the idea and I was off to the races. My goal was to ensure that the branding properly communicated the professionalism of our organization, and that the Foundation is competitive with other top-tier university foundations.”

The Marshall University Foundation logo was redesigned with an emphasis on respect, diversity, integrity, and pride. The integrated “M” featured on the column of the logo makes one think of both academic and financial institutions

While the trade

28th July

While the trade show booth is a temporary fixture, the idea is to create a space that has a feeling of permanence and keeps the customer engaged. So engaged, in fact, that the customer has a memorable experience, and associates that experience with your product ? eliminating the need for the hard sell, and creating a smooth landing for the soft sell.

Each element of these ?experiential exhibits? is crucial and must be carefully selected to effectively execute a cutting-edge, yet warm and inviting, space. Any sort of ?edutainment? feature anchored in technology, such as interactive computer games that test knowledge or popular television game shows as a template for a game featuring facts and information about your company or industry, are a must-have. Making this part of your trade show booth space gives you an opportunity to make your booth more of an interactive space.
